I agree with Karen, you could make her a card, maybe like Karen has put up and include the words "I miss you". I wouldn't put those other words you had.

instead if writing platitudes why  not take the time to visit her?

Dads garage got broken into last night. They cleaned it out of every electric tool he had.

While i was waiting to talk to the polics, my sister went up to sit with Mum.
