Good morning Stringsters
SheEle, years ago my DD had a dog which slept in her room. The dog was routinely treated with flea powder which was used in those days (goodness knows if the powder was dangerous because I don't hear of flea powder now though I don't have pets so don't look for it). She left home and a few weeks later we discovered there were fleas in the carpet. I sprinkled the flea powder over the carpet, closed the door and left it for 24 hours. Then I vacuumed. I had to repeat the treatment a week later because the vet said that though you can vacuum up the fleas, you may not get all the eggs and they hatch later. There was never another flea after the second treatment.
Good luck with whatever treatment you use.
Glad yesterday is over for you Deb.
It is going to be a long day as I woke at 4am. I think I will need lots of coffee.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning Stringers ![]()
No Blackhawks to complain about this morning but a neighbour was using a leaf blower at 7am this morning! What were they thinking - and in the rain too! A pox on them lol
Seriously, little to complain about here. Certainly not in comparison to you Prim with that really early start ![]()
So much going on for you at the moment - no wonder you are having some sleepless nights.
Hope you manage to rid the house of the fleas TGSE. I have read that both those treatments now have a reduced efficacy - they certainly did not help in this house - and we resorted to oral treatments for both the cat and the dog. The one and only outbreak we had was huge and required a call to the professionals to rid the house of them (plus loads and loads and loads of washing). Unfortunately, the residual effects of the outbreak continue to impact on LL and her immune system but we just have to deal with that.
Anyway - good luck with it all.
Have a good day folks

Thanks for the tips everyone. I think we're winning, We vacuumed through twice this morning and only found two fleas and I'll do it again this afternoon. If I keep it up twice a day for a week, then if there are any eggs left behind we'll catch the little suckers as they hatch.
We've had a lovely lot of rain over the last couple of days - the garden is looking greener than it has for months - and the snails are out in force!

It is Wednesday and I got an early minute.
Deb........I went to the chemist this morning too......no perfumes for me though..........I can not wear it..........which is not big deal as I do not like a lot of them anyway.
I do like the smell of Tweed still............not for me though.......it makes me think of my Mum and favourite Aunt.
Maggie is sitting on the new couch giving me her "death stare"............she is unhappy with me because I dared to growl at her.................when I was coming back in from the car she came in with us....(she always runs to the car when we get home)................she runs up to th front door and waits to come in...(even though she has a cat flap it is not th same as being waited on)
I open up the front door......my arms are full of all the stuff I picked up at the chemist and supermarket......(I forgot to take bags again and had to carry it)........Maggie runs in front of me as she always does...........but then she stopped dead in her tracks and had a sudden urge to wash her front foot.
I did some rather fancy foot work not to land on her.......and managed not to throw all of the stuff on the floor.
And in my annoyance with her I called her a stupid cat............and of course she was offended......![]()

Flashie I haven't seen "Tweed"around for ages. Today i bought LouLou and Passion, couldn't resist the prices i always buy a few extra for gifts for people as well, I have such a shocking memory for birthdays lately, and it saves me having to run around at the last mnute.
Do you know, i take the green recycle bags with me to the supermarket and i often forget to use them, they stay where I put them, on my arm ![]()
OH and I always have a bit of a laugh at that because when we're loading the car I say "look""
Maggie was lucky you didn't tri'p over her, they seem to be oblivious to parcels when all they want is to get inside the house ![]()

Bagheera will sit under the bushes by the driveway, watch you get out of the car, walk up to the door, and put the key in the lock; then as you turn the door knob, he streaks across the drive, dashes between your feet and in through the door almost before you've opened it. It can be quite alarming.![]()

My cat is a shocker. When she wants in or out you open the door for her and she will go half way with her front paws on the other side. Then she has to have a bit of a stretch just so you know who's boss and then when she's good and ready she will go the rest of the way.
The temptation to slam the sliding door shut when she does that is almost overwhelming.

They are in and out all the time our 2, never at the same time though, one wants to come in, one wants to go out. I hate to think how much of my day is spent opening and closing doors
