What else makes for a good moderator?

A good avatar. I don't see them using one here, but they do on the US ebay site.

If they got rid of of post info and date registered we could have larger avi that could be seen like they used to be. They're so tiny now.

accepts correct terms for girl and boy bits (and other medical terms) because you know, we are all adults here

I would like them to use the ebay message system rather than the community one. Then you actually get the message when you can't access the boards.

I agree J, then unjust sanctions can be addressed without haveing to do the time for a mistaken sanction.

I think chuk hit it on the head. Sometimes they think posts are interpersonal when they are debating and yes, you have to be an adult to register so why be treated like children. Adult's opinions can differ and that's allowable because Australia has freedom of speech.
