My grandmother buried her silverware in a trench that was dug during the war.

The trench was in a school yard that my Grandfather taught at. As far as I know it's still there. I guess it would be pitted and corroded by now.

She buried it because she didn't like cleaning it!! Smiley LOL

PImpy I dont blame her, I got rid of all the silver I had apart from two very heavy Napkin rings put aside for two of the grand childrens 21.

I cant stand the feeling of Silver cleaner or Brasso on my hands, used to clean brass with Lemon and salt.

Thanks lionrose. I think mine is Lustre rose. I put one on my watch list will post link when I get home

To clean silver, I just line my sink with aluminium foil shiny side up, place silver on the foil, sprinkle some washing powder over the silver then cover the silver with boiling water, allow to sit for about 5 minutes and presto all clean.

I want Freddie's red stuff.

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

I clean silver/silver plate that way too Freddie, it's the best and the silver stays untarnished for ages after one of those baths. I use baking soda & boiling hot water & the silver foil

I want freddies FA

I have a kitchen guy coming in the am................. so I cleaned out the "under the sink" and found 2 jugs I forgot I had.

Bakewell Sydney.

They were used to put milk on the table when I was a child.
