That was the one moorrna, a huge nugget & a lucky find for someone

yea mine most likely be the common type pennys moona, i know there are some rare collectable ones with unusal pictures, but a few bucks for the run of the mil pennys are still better then a kick in the head lol

might just look up those sites and coin forums around the place

Try some of the treasure troving websites mate.

Most the pennies ect ain't worth the smelting value lol.

A lot of the older silver type coins like sixpences, shillings etc are worth far more, but that's because of the higher 'sterling silver' content in them, 50% or more silver.

Again, check them out on the treaure troving and coin list websites.

Yeah I know, and it was that lucky sod's first time out with his brand new detector too :^O

Or at least that's how the tale goes ?:|

😄 I wish it was one of us lol

Hired one about 25 years ago.

Lived in Ararat at the time.

Mate and i spend the weekend detecting.

Filled an icecream container with horseshoe nails -ring pull can tops

and the remains of an old revolver pistol.

Sore arms and back.......................................................Richo.

Sorry I'm back.

Yep we were the same, hired one and found nails and stuff lol and ended up with a sore back!

I want a piece of gold dammit :^O

Not to get rich although we'd all like that but just to say I found one. A streak in a rock I don't care!! Can't find it if I don't look I guess but who's got the time?

My dad used to do a lot of detecting. He's found probably around the 500g mark all up. His biggest find was about 96g if I remember correctly. Mostly around Maryborough.

That could be a fun idea scattering coins in the garden!

We're going that way tomorrow punch 🙂

(not with a gold detector)

The cheap detectors will rarely find gold, they are better for coins. Dad has about 5 or 6 detectors and different plates for them all. Not sure what the purpose of them all is, different depths maybe?
