love these type of kitchen gadgets too viewmont. Cheers for posting. I remember the jug sized flour sifters made first from metal (my Grandma had one) then later plastic(Grandma later got one and Mum had one).....as you held the handle on the side you repeatedly worked/fluttered a lever attached to the handle with the inside of your finger joints so that you sifted the flour.

 

 

AS they got too old or rusted the mechanisms stopped working. I use just a plain old non-mechanised plastic sieve.

Oh I had forgotten about the old flour sifters, I must look out for one in the oppy shops, am starting to collect a few older bit n pieces to put around the kitchen when/if it finally finished.    Nic nacs the unit just plain on the back

I reckon that's the right way round as in the pic. you can tell by the way the edges of the shelves are finished

Definately, absolutely, postitively NOT upside down ..... lol

If it was turned the other way, the cup hooks woul be UPSIDE DOWN and a metre in the air  .... plus you would never reach the plates lol
