It's not a martini if it is made with vodka.

It's just a plain cocktail then.

I have never been a fan of vodka and I believe it's not a real martini if it's a vodkatini.

The perfect martini is gin and dry vermouth and a twist of lemon peel so that the oil floats on top of the drink, or if you prefer an olive and never ever ever shaken.

The award winning  barman who taught me the ins and outs of classic cocktails  always put the glass into a tub of ice so when the drink was poured into it it was icy and brain freeze was imminent..lol

The  martini is a cocktail.

Had that wished-for espresso martini last night.

it was delicious but not what I think of as a true martini either 🙂
