The point being made is that the Fairfax article is heaping scorn on  the current government for looking the other way as illegal entries are being made via our aiports, while keeping silent  about the 10s of 1000s illegal entries being made during the years of Labor government.

Why the faux outrage now as against the complicit silence during those years?

We just do.  It was caused by Labor, so has stopped now.

As far as I recall, Grizz. fake passports and fraudulent student and work visas, overstaying those visas, and other ppl smuggling schemes are illegal.

guess what??........it is still happening today.

 

...and it's still happening today because it's years worth of problems that have been left for this government to sort out, and to clear the up the mess left for them.

What faux outrage and silence? It has been said for years that more people arrive by boat than sea and that most illegals have overstayed their visa.

It didn't start under Rudd or Gillard. There have been a couple of amnesties where illegal citizens have been allowed to apply for residency without penalty.  I doubt they'd have done that if the problem started with Rudd Gillard as you've indicated.
