Lobs...........dont take much notice of what you read on Dr. Google, the info there isnt always right.

 

The anti cancer council will give you alot of info and I agree get a second opinion and dont wait for 3 weeks as in that 3 weeks alot could happen.

 

I have lost most of my maternal relatives to cancer including my mum, I know what you are going through and it isnt good, but please suggest to go get a second opinion.

there is so many types of bloody cancers - thats the problem

 

And when people are too shy or scared or whatever to ask the Doctors - we are scared of Docs and hospitals Oh God we scared of hospitals so no one asks any thing and then they ask me LOL 😐

Lobs I think your friend needs the opportunity to ask her Dr these questions now.

It would be good if she got an appt with him/her to do this. If you or someone else could go with her it would be best, as there will be lots to take in, and she mightn't be able to process it all.

Being scared of drs. and hospitals is understandable, but you have to go with her to the dr. as AM said, there is alot to take in and she will need your support.

The sooner you get this friend to go to the hospital/dr. to find out, the sooner something can be done.........drs. always say, the sooner you see the dr, if you have any cancer symptoms the more chance you have of it not spreading. the sooner treatment is started the better.

I can understand you/her being scared, but she needs another opinion and treatment started as soon as possible.

Surely in your town they have aboriginal staff that she could consult with.

Everywhere is culturally trained nowadays so she should be treated and her beliefs treated with respect.

Up here we just opened our first aboriginal doctors, I hope it makes a difference.....I believe it will.

Love, they have a KLO (koori liaison officer) yes they do

 

And I said the same thing - lets get her to ask all the questions and then give us the answers LOL  but you know what these stubborn peeps are like in a small town LOL  "This my business - not hers"

Still if it was me, I would go get another opinion, it doesnt hurt to do that.

I would get your mum to give you permission to speak with doctors for her on her behalf.
That might work? The sooner she gets some answers and you, then you can plan the next move.
