There is another alternative. They might not have been shouting out noisy threats but were rather silently threatening.  The police report that it's not obvious from the footage that anything was amiss.

Your post is 100% correct LD, but 18C is only used against the right and people like Andrew Bolt, the right shall not have an opinion or speak.

No I do, I totally understand where you are coming from and respect your stance in that the adult in charge should be held accountable.  The "right" thing to have done would be intervene in a circumstance such as this. 

No bus driver in metropolitan Sydney is going to stop the bus or  pull over to the side of the road in peak hour traffic and start having an altercation with a bunch of unruly students.  Drivers have been injured to the point where they could no longer operate the vehicle. such "man-up" interventions. He also risks an opportunity for someone seize control of the vehicle if he leaves his seat.

Once the driver is incapacitated the passengers, in this case young children, are left stranded and vulnerable to the abuse of  the perpetrators. 

Best the driver stay at the wheel until he can stop safely and and call for assistance.

Not to mention he'd probably face all sorts of disciplinary action against him if god forbid he had to god forbid use physical force on any one of those unruly teenage boys to make them stop their behaviour

Please excuse my ignorance but what is 18c?

Did you read or see the article in question or see the cartoon and the images it was a reflection of?

If the people you talk about feel threatened, intimidated or harrassed they have every right to lodge a complaint. Why ask here what happened to 18C.  Advise the people affected to make a complaint.
