Asylum seekers sail into Darwin

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2013/05/05/320530_ntnews.html

A FERRY carrying 160 asylum seekers has dropped anchor between the heads of Darwin Harbour - just 2.5km from the shore.

So my question is

Do you think it is is alarming that this boat made it to shore undetected?

who wouldn't be concerned?

for goodness sake!  what's the Navy doing?  Could have been a terrorist bomber?

19 boats arrived on the mainland of Australia UNDETECTED during the Howard years, so nothing new

Might not be new but that is not the question...

I feel that there have been so many boats and asylum seekers that people seemed to not even care that a boat has arrived....

I was not really surprised and am really not sure if I am concerned.. lol.. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing..

We have such a big country with a huge coastline, it is not surprising.  But it is concerning.  I would be more worried about a nearby country with a population of 240 million.  That's why we have to stay very friendly with them and give tham lots of $.

undetected - yes, a big concern.
