A few years ago we were looking at getting out of the rat race of suburban Sydney but I was turned off the idea after reading these boards and learning how difficult it was to get madical attention in a timely manner.
Freddy, I recently had to have a pelvic ultrasound done. Called in to make the appointment on the way home from the GP on Wednesday afternoon....turned down an appointment for midday the next day but went on Saturday morning and had the report in my hot little hand half an hour after the procedure.
Lyndal, in tears I ended up ringing the same radiography firm in another country Town some 3/4hr drive from here and was given an appt the very next day. After that I needed a cone biopsy, thankfully due to my OH's cancer and him being in treatment at St. Vincents in Sydney I was slotted in to co-inside with his treatment for my cone biopsy, partial mastectomy and radiation all through St Vincents. It was a happy ending thanks to St Vincents, but of course we had to practically move away from home for 6 months during our treatment.

Freddy, I followed your ups and downs on the boards....your story was one of the many that made it easy for me to decide to stay put at least for now. St Vincents is a wonderful hospital...both the public and the private section.
We live near St George Hospital and the whole family has always been well looked after both in the public and private sections.

Oh Jean, I am sorry that things deteriorated so rapidly but on a brighter note you have got him the help that he needed.
Do look after yourself now that you do not have to worry about your OH.
