Of course they can. My eyes are rolling because this conversation just goes on and on and on week after week. I really don't understand why people can't just post the pictures they want to (within the minimal rules there are), vote for the ones they want to and just get on with it. Why we have to have this continual rehashing of rules and what not is beyond me.

Just enjoy it for what it is fgs, or not.

The new chat thread format was run past Pimpy who was ok with it and quite frankly I hesitate to mention her name here, she started the photo comp as a fun thread.

 

Should the current chat thread get too long, another can be started.

 

Re the photos of photos, I put this to you. My brother is a very good photographer, would you be happy for me to take photos of his photos and enter them in the comp? That in my eyes is not the right thing to do. He is the one that put thought into it, it wouldn't have been me. This is why the chat thread has been opened up so you can put any other photos you like there.

 

Taking a photo of a painting on your wall to me is a different thing altogether, it would show as a painting, something you like, are proud of and something you actually have to think about when taking the photo.

 

Anyway it is up to the individual what they want to do and how they play the game.  We can't seem to satisfy everyone.

I agree with the in the spirit of things, and I have not actually taken a photo of a photo. 

The Toby pic was for a laugh and as I said on it I would take it to the chat thread.
