Did anyone else try the ping pong ball solution?

A young new mother said to me once I will never bribe my child, I just laughed and said yes you will.

How many times when you are tired do you say to your child, if you stop crying and behave your self I will give you a lolly, cake, story or what ever hahaha

Yes Channy did with her little boy   He was just a little bit little and still needed to sit, and by the time he grew it wasn't needed.

Blessed are the cracked, for they are the ones who let in the light.

I can't remember bribing them with food (but I may have) but I did usually promise to buy 1 Little Golden book if all 3 behaved nicely in the supermarket. They "policed" each other because if 1 mucked up they all missed out.

Well, that's serendipity.  I just looked at Facebook and saw this LOL

In the workplace, reward for effort is usually a pay rise or promotion, partnerships, shared profits..... everyone is motivated by

something.

I can't recall bribing my children either.

I overheard a father this year looking for the tiny lollipops suitable for an under two.
Personally I feel that parents are lazier now days, or they just really don't care about the long term....as long as their kid shuts up or does what the parent wants when they want, they are happy.

If my mother  (she's getting on a bit ) forgets to send me some lollies every week i simply cant go . The method works as it has at least 50 years of results to back it up.

Maybe a solution is to "bribe" with healthy gifts. Do this and you get ... carrot sticks ... a whole tomato ... a piece of fruit ... a visit to the library ...

I can't remember bribing my son ... that's not to say it didn't happen ... maybe I just called it "rewarding".

We can probably all rest easy, I haven't met a grown up who expects a reward or a bribe for using a toilet successfully, not yet anyway.
