Sin I would love to get rid of them. I never knew they were there until my hubby pointed them out.

I don't even know the life cycle. That pic was from June and now its all seems to be abondoned and dry.

Does that mean no wasps?

what i usually do is fire up my smoker and use a battery operated hand fan to direct the smoke towards the nests, for about 15 minutes, just in case there are any wasps in there. that puts them to sleep.

then i wear michael's welding gloves to quickly pull them down and toss them into the smoker and burn them.

then spray the branches with vinegar a couple of times a week for about a month before it gets very warm. that way they don't come back and rebuild at that spot.

this usually keeps them away for a couple-three years ,sometimes longer. we haven't had any new nests in 4 years,i'm hoping they gave up on my yard, lol!

taste my religion! nibble a witch! 😄

am*3,what is that flowery thing?

and joono, were you photobombed by the snail, like tcm was by the spider? or did you know it was there? 🙂

No, I knew it was there Sin.  I was trying to focus on the snail but just with the iPhone so not too bad.

Those plants have the most amazing flowers but the bush itself is pretty ugly and very bedraggled looking for most of the year.  I've got a couple which I really want to get rid of.  I wish I had done it when they were smaller.

Joono

Joono forgot to tell you what the flower is called Sineater, it's from the lavender plant and she is right in saying the bush/plant itself is ugly because it is, unless you constantly stay on top of it with pruning. I love the flowers myself but yes the bush is ugly and unsightly.

Oh I wasn't talking about the lavendar Roserobin.  I love those, but not the smell too much.

The ugly one is the Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia).

Joono

Oh I thought Sineater was asking about AM's lavender. Still the same though, both ugly plants but nice flowers. LOL.
