why do you only complain about one?  MrGrizz knows more than me, but I think Halal and kosher are very similar

Halal and kosher are not similar.

Halal funds go to terrorism, kosher funds go to Jewish churches.

you will find that halal funds also go towards similar:

Dr Shaberah said Australian Halal certifiers should donate profits to Islamic mosques and schools.

"They should contribute for mosques, Islamic schools, the Islamic community and other social activities,'' he said.

ok so some ppl may not be happy about that

but the terrorist accusations?  over the top in my opinion

off to see if i can source some actual figures

I will make it my mission in life never to by halal. I will not be a party to financing terrorism no matter how small it is.

Oh Lightning you know I respect you as a poster here, but honestly it seems to me as though every time you see anything Muslim related you automatically go into "all Muslims are terrorists" mode. It's totally your perogative to never buy anything Halal but I think it's very narrow minded to associate Halal with funding terrorism.

To UFO imo if Kosher money goes to Jewish Churches, who in turn send money to Israel they are also funding terrorism...

Halal certification has nothing to do with terrorism, that is, unless you hold the view, like some here, that Muslims = Terrorist.

Halal is simply a means by which those who practice that faith can make sure the foods they buy (and eat) complies with the requirement of their faith.

Now we have something like 100 million or so Muslims to our immediate north. So, I for one will not criticise any Australian Company which decides to have its food products certified Halal, so it can sell in a market which is 20 time or bigger than the local one. I would have thought this was just plain good business

As for animal cruelty, we have laws governing same, and religious law, all religious laws are subservient to it. Therefore if someone is attempting to introduce slaughter practices which breach those laws the answer is simple – close down the business and prosecute the owners.

I dont here many muslims denouncing IS or the terror they cause in the name of Islam, where are all these peacful people

i took your post as a suggestion that accreditations are a scam

by religions. nothing more nothing less

(did you read what was in the link you posted)

"if you're going to go down that road, the same applies to "Kosher"food. there are a few articles on the net, mainly from the US

http://www.deism.com/kosher.htm

so you can't single out one religion"

to me, it seems like a scam as it pushes prices up & the labels mean absolutley nothing to me. but to the jews and muslims it obviously matters and is a way of funding their temples, and synagogues, schools etc.

I will look more closely at the labels on what I buy in future, don't want to be labelled a terrorist supporter as I am not Woman LOL

Spoiler

Anyone can paste a link of a google search.  Why not type in secret Kosher tax to google as well.

Whats okay for one is never okay for the other.  Why is that?

i didnt realise it pushed prices up.

Ill be reading the labels more closely now
