Cheers TCM.....I know this person very well that sent me this true story about trying to pay with Scottish money and being refused in a British establishment......this person is a hardworking person and had worked in both UK and Wales and Scotland for a fair few years.....he was just relaying how anti the Brits are regards Scottish currency. It's a snide attitude that goes back about 600 years or more LOL
I appreciate your comment.

Although it sounds like a "scam", it is not. Mc'ds should have taken the 100 pound note.
I've had merchants literally throw Scottish sterling notes back at me, as if I gave them a piece of toilet paper.
I'm not sure if the English hate the Scottish, or Americans more. It was very hard to tell. Either way, living there was not fun for me.
I love to visit England though. That is a completely different experience.
In the City of Carlisle (Over the Border in England) you are quite often slipped a Scottish note of currency amongst your change. I always return it and ask (politely) for the equivalent in our own denomination. It looks and feels like a margarine wrapper.

A slap in the face for the Scottish left . A triumph for common sense and if that is correct that Salmond resigned, well he probably jumped before he was pushed.
Did anybody see his speech?? it was the most divisive speech from a leader I have ever heard. All he could harp on was the number of people who voted "yes" and completely ignored the majority of Scots who voted a resounding no.
I thought we were only subjected to this nonsense from Labor here, anybody remember Kevin's concession speech? He completely ignored the fact that the majority of the voters voted him and his party out.
A great day for Scotland, och! aye! Jimmy ![]()

Actually with the current figures 55% - 45% the difference is: 10%.

A nasty, odious, little man, Lightning. As poisonous as one of your Inland Taipan snakes, and every bit as slippery. I hope to God that we never again have to see his ugly, self-righteous and pompous countenance on our screens.
Although I'm not holding my breath on that one. He left the party once before, but came creeping back and managed to inveigle his way into his previous position.
