Sorry my very presents here offends you but I was simply praising a woman who used to be a cop, Who, at the time she was a cop, did something rare, so rare in fact, that i have not been able to find another case similar searching near and far. So keep on patting your self on the back speaking of all your good deeds. this topic is tailor made for you, so be happy it's here.

a random act of kindness given to my hubby today... he came out the door to go to his van after a delivery,and a guy with a bicycle pump was airing up his back right tire. wasn't that nice? 🙂

I am not comfortable with talking about my random acts of kindness, so mine will be told about others I witness or experience, for now. 🙂

 

My neighbour is moving house this weekend and he has just come and taken my enormous bundle of palm fronds to the Tip, along with his green waste. 🙂

 

 

I don't feel comfortable either about telling of my acts of kindness but it's a great thread as it makes me think-   how can I be kinder?  And  I think of all the kindnesses done to me which gives me a warm feeling.

A lady let me go ahead of her today in a store, I had 1 item, she had 2. 🙂 Instead of saying no thank you, it's ok, I thanked her and accepted in the manner it was offered.

Az and Bright.ton, I get where you are coming from ... and I kind of agree ... but I also thought that sharing good deeds might give others some ideas.

The other day I was getting a taxi home. I met an older lady at the rank and we got chatting. A taxi came and I asked her where she was going ... a bit further than me, but in the same direction, so we shared the cab. Now, (and this is where it really isn't such a good deed), I usually pay $8.00 for the fare and add a couple of dollars for a tip. So, when I got out of the cab, I gave the driver ten dollars (he wanted to charge me $3.50, LOL), and told him to put the rest towards the older lady's fare.

She'd been to the doctor's earlier ... I got the feeling it hadn't been fun.

So, I paid the usual amount, she got it cheaper, and I hope it made her day a little better.

Az,  She would have felt good too for you accepting her kindness.  I must admit that's something I try to do if I have a full trolley and someone behind only has a couple of items so I tell them to go first.  It's surprising how grateful people are for that as I honestly don't think many do it.

i take it you mean the plicewoman,like i did? she did her job,and she deserves praise for it,of course. but it wasn't a random act of kindness.it was her job to stop ANY act of violence,and she did that. i'm proud of her,as a great cop! 

and i really don't want the aussies  believing that all cops are bad,or that all americans expect them to be,which was the implication made. 

it's an insult to so many great cops who DO random acts of kindness,on and off duty. that's just not cool. cops are good people,for the most part. i'm thankful for the cops in my city,and proud to have cooked for their training classes.
