Just got my electricity bill, the first full one since the end of the carbon price. Our average daily usage has gone down from the same time last year as there are only 2 of us now. So the great big savings promised by the woeful abbott -
$23
but our usage has gone down , so the savings is less than $23 -
22.51kWh - daily average now
25.14kWh - same time last year.

I am not expecting any savings................... I have online billing................ and can never get in there to look at anything. Last month I received a letter asking me to renew my plan.
Fine................. can't do it online unless I am changing it.

I have complained to my energy company who have told me they legally had to send out those flyers. Their excuse was a price hike on June 25 and then the repeal started on 31st July. They are in damage control and offering me a $35 credit.
I'm not surprised and was under no illusion that the carbon tax repeal would benefit anyone except the biggest polluters. But it's the misleading propaganda thst I'm very annoyed about.
