i had a pepper tree cut down.. painted straight poison on the stump soon after...that was hard to kill

shoots would pop up the surrounding area.. just sprayed them untill none would sprout no more.

i find with most weeds it looks as though the spray doesn't absorb (waxy surface on the leaves

but it does penetrate

Signatures suck.

it's probably best not to cut back or handle the plant, am3 (unless you wear safety protection

It's Ivy Joz, not poison Ivy. A totally different plant.  I had to remove some and basically I just cut  it back and applied roundup or similar at the roots.

I like Ivy in the right place and it's a shame it has such a bad reputation.

Joono

Did you know that (Round Up contains it) Glyphosate has been recently banned in Canada?

President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka apparently gave a direct order to ban the weed killer Glyphosate (aka Roundup) after studies linked the chemical to widescale kidney failure in the country.

how do they control their weeds?

i dont trust any brand

i make sure i don't get any on me (if so wash off straight away) or breathe any in

another good safety reason not to choose a breezy day, but wear a respirator in any-case

i see council workers wear a mask.. which is a good thing (some don't!

Good advice Joz.

You can't be too careful when it comes to this type of product.

I had a friend who died from ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Also called Lou Gehrig's.

Of course the real cause is still up for debate, but he was a landscaper and the general consensus was he got it from the pesticides he used on the job.

He was 35.

I was hoping you meant Ivy on Bold and Beautiful.   Someone needs to get rid of her.

So far, most people suggest poison to kill Ivy........Woman Tongue

Think Poison Ivy should pop in with some few hints too!!lol

serious tho some roundup should do the job..good luck

Ivy is not often planted in the right situation. The suckers attach to fences, sides of houses, soffits etc and ruin them.
