Thanks Az. I just heard that about acting alone on tonight's news as well

He may well have acted alone but he did not become radicalised by himself

and yes, has happened here but some will say "that was years ago" as if it was not relevant.

And I suspect what they will really mean is it's not relevant because the perpetrators were not Muslim. It's worth noting the two men who were convicted (and later exonerated) for the Hilton bombing were members of an international cult - Ananda Marga.

Years ago or not they are not irrevelant

The locations were decidedly different to striking at the centre of a nation's government though, as they did in Canada.

This seems, somehow, more threatening.

Mosman Town Hall and the Syndney Hilton Hotel have not yet achieved that status

no he didn't.  and there was another:

Terrorist ideology inspired a recent convert to Islam to drive his car into two Canadian soldiers, killing one, before he was shot dead by police, authorities said on Tuesday.

What I'm saying Kilroy is , they got him and don't have to look for anyone else

I have no idea what happened in his life other than what was reported in the OP's link

I don't know how prepared our politicians are but relying just on cops is not enough, all members of parliament should be carrying a concealed .38 revolver. You can't just expect law enforcement to be watching everyone 24 hours a day. It worked in Canada, someone stopped him.

not enough you think?

The incident will prompt a renewed focus on the Australian parliament’s security arrangements, which  were increased last month after Abbott said there was increased “chatter amongst these terrorist networks of a potential attack”

The Australian federal police (AFP) were given control of internal and external security at the building, and officers with assault rifles were stationed near entry points.

Bishop has said there are precautions in place as usual and no need for more, didn't she?

a concealed 38?? seriously? I can just see opposition to changing gun laws again.

I didn't say anything about changings gun laws, politicians should have the legal right to carry a gun for self-defence their job is high risk.
