Love mushrooms Freedie!

Had to rustle up a meal for all my family after they arrived unexpected.  Was lovely to have them all here mid week and a very pleasant surprise. Girls were excited to tell about their day at school.....garden day with a theme. Miss 8 went as a scarecrow,  Miss nearly 11 as a flower picker lol

Master 4 loves to see his cousins and is expecially close to the elder one. They are often mistaken as siblings rather than cousins.

My friend has a new dog....cute cute cute.

Your gardens are looking lovely Bushiesgirl.

What's the puppy twinks?

Thanks Joono, they are definately a work in progress ..... Some of the roses came from a friends property, she has over a 100 roses growing there and needed to thin them out, so she offered me as many as I wanted. Some came from my previous house, they were just dug out and shoved in pots, 'cause I wasnt leaving them behind when I moved.

I'm working on redoing the front garden bed.  It's a slow process but it's starting to look okay.  I must say your beds look nice with the woodchips and straw but I don't want to do that until I've finished planting which might be a while.  I haven't decided on everything I want to go in there yet.  I want it to be a mixed bed of favourites rather than one of those trendy designer gardens.  Just a messy my garden.

Sounds lovely Joono 🙂 I know what you mean, I call them "2 yukkas and a few pebbles gardens" sooooo boring lol What have you planted so far? They gardens here hadn't been touched for yrs ( deceased estate), so they needed topsoil and then a layer of mulch. The hay was only 3 bucks a bale, so that was great. I left it there for a while to break down, now I can start putting the bark on it's a slow process and worth it in the end.

So far I started with some agapanthus.  Then I put in a couple of roses.  The crimson one and the yellow one.  I have a frangipani in the middle and on the weekend I added a couple of lavenders.  Not the normal lavendar which I have heaps of in other beds but a different type called Lavandula pedunculata 'Sweetberry Ruffles'.  It is more pink than mauve and has ruffled flower heads.  It's really pretty.

I can get heaps of hay right across the road so that's easy.  I live near a stock feeds place.

Oh thats sounds lovely, great colour mix 🙂 I love lavender, there are some really pretty ones around today, I will keep an eye out that one as well.

Sounds great re hay, mine came from a farm, no weeds in it but lotsa wheat, which I have to keep pulling out when it appears lol  Hopefully the bark will kill it off.
