Imagine the hold-ups in checkout queues if checkout staff did refunds! (especially for returned items).
I wonder if he is telling the truth at all?
Something not right in that tale.
I think that may have been the whole point - he would not have gotten much attention from others if he had just gone quietly to the service desk.
Perhaps stonings are appropriate for some people.

@boris1gary wrote:I think picksickering is telling fibs (shock), from the Woolworths website - you can't return opened food products - I knew this but thought i should check, the whole story is a crock. Interesting site "christian" news...lol...not even the thoroughly right wing australian christian lobby supports this religious bigotry campaign. If picksickering had of carried on as he describes, security would have been called and he would have been escorted out.
I have changed my mind and no longer want an item I have purchased. Can I return it?
If you no longer want a product you purchased from a Woolworths Supermarket, take your item to your nearest store unopened, in its original packaging and with a clear proof of purchase and we will cheerfully refund the purchase price or exchange the product.
These may be the rules, but I don't think this man was intereste4d in following them.
Those rules don't help an unawares checkout operator when a shock jock confronts them infront of other customers. The CO operator may have directed him to the service desk, but how does she make him do that? If he refused and stood his ground, the next thing she could do was call a supervisor for assistance.
I am surprised the supervidor didn't call store security, but then maybe they thought the best way to handle the situation was to give him his refund as quickly as possible and get him out of the store to stop disrupting other customers.
The person who wrote that just comes across as a pig. Regardless of whether he did what he claimed or not.

and you cannot get a refund at the checkout, no matter how much fuss you make and people you inconvenience.

For him to go straight to the checkout ( and not to the service desk) complain proves he just wanted to start a ruckus and inconvenience all the other customers waiting in the queue.

I agree
Unfortunately, he has his followers who blindly support this sort of behaviour. Often quoted on CS.

In my experience those claiming to be the victim of bullying are in fact the bully themselves. There is a medical term for this.
