Lack of respect by people at a funeral service. ...it was not the place or time to boo anyone.

I'm not sure how I feel about it but I can understand it - here they were gathering to celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to the country and two people show up who have both played big parts in demolishing everything Whitlam strived to achieve.
that really surprises me.
i thought you out of all people would
think booing during a memorial service
was completely inappropriate and
disrespectful......but there you go...
there is time and place for everything and
it was time to rise above differences and
show respect and dignity.
shame indeed.

They didn't get booed during the memorial service. Abbott got booed before and after. During the service he sat like an irritated child who did not want to be there.

i thought it was obvious what i meant.
being booed during a memorial service ie
during the arrival at a memorial service -
whichever way you look at it - such behaviour
would be considered disrespectful during
arrival at a service, in the middle of a service
or the end of a memorial service. totally
inappropriate at such an occasion.
very surprised at some ppl's attitudes.

Perhaps he's just not very respected wherever he goes? I don't know how anyone can control the feeling of crowds in the street etc. sporting events etc.

TA's advisors should advise him not to attend public gatherings if it is likely he will get boo'ed at..no Abbott, no booing.
Why do people want to boo him? No respect for him as the Prime Minister? Probably.
Memorial services are more informal than a funeral service.

Yes. Abbott is pretty funny, but I can understand the public being anti towards him and expressing that anger with boos.
As for the memorial service Abbott attracted the boo's. He is to blame.

abbott will be abbott. nuff said.
ppl should be able to show restraint in
certain situation. their disgraceful behaviour
on this occasion is reflection of them.
still surprised at some ppl's views on this
while expected as much from others.
