She knocked back some who offered some support and said she doesn't need help.
She claims the altered image was posted on her FB page by someone else. Pope didn't seem too upset when he made the little jibe at her on twitter but her reaction was over the top in the extreme.
over the top....
Does she even know what she is on about? her staff sound like they are related to her.
Cartoonist David Pope said he was concerned someone else's political message was now being attributed to him.
The word "apologies" had been added to the cartoon but it had not stopped numerous people being led to believe it was Pope's original work, he said.
"Apologies" is used by cartoonists to let readers know they are making references to someone else's creative work and not to attribute the cartoon's message to the creator they are referencing.
"I know people have been fooled that this was the original version," Pope said.
"Some cartoonist colleagues have even shared it without knowing it was not the original."
On Tuesday afternoon a spokesman for Senator Lambie said her office was "very busy today we don't have time at the moment to reply to your fake cartoon accusations".
"Being Remembrance Day, we also need to deal with the serious issues today," the spokesman said in a written statement.
"We're taking hundreds of calls from all over Australia from Australian Defence Force members who are very angry about the Abbott government's defence pay cutbacks.
"Not only that we're also fielding calls from desperate veterans (some who are suicidal).
"In the meantime the senator has immediately removed from her Facebook the allegedly offending fake cartoon.
"Jacqui will reply officially to your questions and accusations tomorrow, so you'll get two stories and be able to sell more papers."
