Good morning Deb, you must have snuck in the back door while I was typing 🙂

Great idea re the palm leaves 🙂 Love native violets they are so pretty

My dear old Dad had the best veg garden his tomatoes tasted like real tomatoes not like the rubbish you buy, oh how I miss his beautiful tommies, I can still see his beautiful red oxe heart tomatoes I shall need to encourage my son to take up his Pop's tomato growing abilities.

Sandy, my daughter's friend had a "rustic-agricultural" wedding theme.  I supplied the moccona jars for the battery operated tea candles, they were decorated with hessian bands and roses and had gravel(?) in them for placement on the long trestle tables.

So it will be one big "play date" for the LabsSmiley Wink

I was thinking the other day, after your announcement of the longevity of your own marriage, of the work and effort taken in arranging some weddings these days.  I sincerely hope that the same amount of work and effort is spent within these marriages.

I'm looking forward to a piccie of the decorated cake.

Same with most store bought veggies these days, they have no taste

So, I haven't made the bed.  "It's just airing".  Will probably "air" all day.  So what.

I'm now remembering my mum, who was the worst ever housekeeperHeart.  Almost-clean but unkempt house.

I recall her saying later on in life "Why make a bed, if you can hug a baby?"  (And there were a lot of us).  Which brings me to something I came across this morning.

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait for tomorrow,

For babies grow up as we've learned to our sorrow,

So, quiet down cobwebs,

Dust go to sleep,

I'm rocking my babies,

and, babies don't keep.

Love your mum's sentiments Deb .... Sterile, spotless houses do nothing for me, somehow they never look "homely"

I don't think you meant that.  Homely means "ugly"

I have fond memories of my non-elegant, non-pretentious home and the associated people within.  It was not an ugly atmosphere.

DEB

The word that she/he meant to say was "homey"

homey
adjective
North American
adjective: homey; comparative adjective: homier; superlative adjective: homiest; adjective: homy
  1. 1.
(of a place or surroundings) comfortable and cosy.
    "a homey atmosphere"
