An increase to the GST? :O

It was bad enough to scrap the wholesale tax in favour of the GST, but now top of the list for LNP tax reforms will be increasing the GST and taxing those things that weren't taxed before like food, education and health.

And he has already broken his first promise and he hasn't even landed in the job yet - the tax cut to company tax is gone. Aren't 'broken promises' what the opposition have based their entire campaign on? ?:|

What  a beat up & totally untrue 😛

Tone isn't even in office yet and the luvies are already crying their heads off. Will probably have to put the Labor spammers on ignore for the next 10 years if this is any indication of future posts. No wait.... that would be  really  childish.

I dont have a problem with an increase. Its 15% in NZ and 20% in the UK

They should have done this instead of the stupid mining tax, but had no stomach for it.

It's pretty clear in their white paper - the only paper they have released that comes close to policy.

The mining tax affects a few. GST affects everyone. And it affects the most those that can't afford to pay extra for essentials like food and education.

Not much of a comparison. ?:|

How exactly was the Labor Party supposed to ask for an increase to the GST when the majority of States are run by the Liberal Party. You do realise in order to get an increase in the GST ALL states must agree.

I thought 100% of the GST gathered went directly to states anyway.
