Laney..............if you have electric hot water and it is running cold instead of hot then it is an electrician you need not a plumber...............it means your element has gone.

If you have no water coming out at all ignore my above advice.

Oh, I had forgotten about the other problem.  We did have a no hot water problem and had to replace the gas storage thing.  The old one was leaking.  

That was a $2000 job.  No wonder I had wiped it from memory.

It is a gas hot water service.  No problem with the water coming out and no problem with the gas supply as the gas hob is still able to give us water for coffee (thankfully) so it may just be a pilot light issue.  Hopefully anyway j*oono - would prefer to avoid replacing it! Glad I was not losing my marbles - thought one of us had had some hot water problems 

Hopefully plumber coming in the morning - hate disrupting people like that on a Sunday so will manage with cold shower today lol

Nah!  That is so NOT me - but I AM clean.

It was just a pilot light thankfully and our lovely neighbour from the local constabulary came to the rescue.

An old house of ours didn't have hot water - it didn't even have running water - so it was the bucket brigade from the tanks to fill up the old copper and then a HUGE immersion heater thing to heat the water.  Thank heavens we at least had electrickery lol 

All is well in the world now - well our world at least 

This dieting is giving me the willies..............I was starving by tea time...........I seem to be more occupied with food now than I ever was a few months ago..............will I ever get used to it............I does not seem to bother hubby.......(mentally smacks hubby........)
