It doesn't sound much like his parent would want to be in contact with him, I was thinking of his extended family.

Yes, lets just assume his whole family wanted him to die.

For some reason his 30yr old mother didn't, or couldn't tell her family she was pregnant or that she had just had a baby. 

Why? Unusual situation....and I would be interested in knowing why.

I think I read somewhere that the family was very religious, that could be a reason for the secrecy.  Not uncommon.

Sometimes the look of something is not how it really is.

I suppose we will need to wait and see what the circumstances are.

Given the way the media operates, it will be a trial by the public, long before the court decides.

    I would be excluding his family.......if an adoption happened.

Really?..... I've never met a 30yr year old adult who couldn't tell their family they were pregnant.
