I saw the suggestion made that shops should put all the toys together not seperate into boys and girls isles but I think that's just the way they are choosing to see it, if your buying a doll for a boy it's in the doll isle not the girl isle.


Editing coz I forgot to answer the question, I have 3 grandsons, two eldest are getting Kennetic Sand and accessories and the youngest is getting a paddling pool with uv cover. Nothing sexist there!

I purchased my grandson a trampoline from Target on eBay 🙂 My son I am thinking of a GoPro

What a lot of rot that is.

 

My grandson is getting MX clothing and other boy stuff and a bit of non gender stuff.

 

My grand daughter is getting some pink girly stuff, stuff she asked for an also non gender stuff.

 

My grandson plays with his sisters stuff and granddaughter plays with her brothers stuff.

 

They both know who they are and what they want.

Which bit is rot?

Apparently toy marketers cartoon makers etc do engage in this activity though?

 

Personally I was jealous of my brothers toys when I was a kid, they are more fun.

I'm in two minds because it has not affected me, I loved playing cowboys and indians when I was little and wasn't really into dolls.

 

My daughters are both tom boyish and I like that. I quite like the new not perfect barbie that is around and I don't think barbie should be portrayed as a bimbo.

 

Maybe boys toys have taken a turn for the worse, they were great when I was little, engines cars, race tracks guns etc.
