I think the kids know on some level at a very early age. They just go along with it for their parent's sake, and hey, they are getting presents, why mess with a good thing? and the mom and dad go along with it for the kid's sake, each not knowing the other is onto them. Quite the game huh?, family deception gotta start somewhere. lol

When my kids asked me if Santa was real, I said he is to those who believe in him, and left it at that.

They milked it for another couple of years after that.

I don't remember most of what I got for Christmas, about the only thing that does stick out in my mind was that jambox, (it's a flat boombox) before they made them more deep for better bass sounds. I think i only remember that because of my love of music, and it marked my personal freedom from my mom and dad's country music, I was sooo very sick of hearing that. litterally made me sick i think.

But far back as I can remember, I knew the presents was coming from the parrents and maybe some from other family, the cards with money in it, ect. they knew i knew, and i think sister did as well. they just jokingly said from Santa anyway. Santa was code for parents.

The first time that I celebrated Christmas was when I met my Husbands family when I was 18 and they included me in their festivities.

Before that Christmas, birthdays and easter did not exist.

Every year since I have revelled in the celebrations and when my Son came along it was pure magic and now with a new Grand daughter the magic is again alive.

The same here jean2579...and now that I have a 2 year old greatgrandson and another due in April the magic will continue for a few years yet.

Childhood is short enough and to deprive them of a little magic when they are tiny is in my opinion cruel.

There's always Christianity or Islam if you want to keep the magic going for the rest of their life.

Yes..that would be up to them...and why just Christianity or Islam, Bob...there are 100's of other religions they could follow if they so wished.
