Amber, good you are calling in - keep thinking nice things and put the disappointment behind you.  You want to enjoy Christmas with your hubby.  Sounds like you are going great guns with your swimming - well done!

 

I have done most of my baking yesterday - in the fridge I have white Christmas, 2 jelly slices (1 red, 1 green), a lemon slice, almond fingers dipped in chocolate, autumn leave biscuits and pastry and filling to make this new recipe I found - fig and walnut pillows.  Couldn't complete them as I didn't have a fluted biscuit cutter.  I will buy on today and complete them tonight then start giving out my plates of Christmas fare to quite a few friends and elderly people.  That leaves next week for cooking for the family feast on Christmas Day.

 

Today Frank and I are going on a 1 1/2 hour train trip to Bairnsdale to use up the last of our free rail passes.  My aunt used to say "Use them of lose them" so we always try to use them.  We wander around town, have lunch, have a rare go at the pokies and generally have a nice relaxed day.

 

I think it was Deb mentioned my rattling chest.  It is much better Deb - I finished the prednisolone yesterday so time will tell but at the moment I feel good.  After nearly 6 months of coughing, rattling chest and asthma, I am hoping it has gone.

If no-one can see through the window, why not leave it as is, with some blue and white pretend flowers in a small vase or pot.  Or put the blue pot up there with white flowers, or a row of small blue ornaments, not the same, but similar.

The ambersx2 and ams suggestions sound good for appearance.  The horizontal lines of blinds would help to extend the visual width of the room.  The cleaning bit though, is worrisome.

 

Aps suggestion of a bit of "bush" is a fair comment.  But with a sliding window, other things might "slide" off the sill.  

 

I "see" a round-leafed succulent in the blue pot which I would reverse placement with the soap dispenser (again for visual lengthening of the space).

I have a small window like that but above my bed.

In all the time, I rarely move the position of the window.

It stays half open to let air in / out, partly because the bathroom
is attached to the bedroom.

Oh, you fresh-air lover, you.

 

Due to it being a bathroom, and presently without window covering, and us not being aware of possible gawkers whilst the Tapmeasureman is causing steam, Freddie may insist on having the window closed periodically.

Wow look at all those lovely comments, thanks thanks and thanks........and yes we had our first shower last night.

 

I also thought of a venetion type blind, but the cleaning put me off. I am thinking more of a cross over white lace curtain.....it needs something to finish it off, and the sea blue pot was white and I spray painted it along with the white clothes hamper I am thinking of puting the pot between the cross over curtains with mabe an artificial ivy leaf or something that drapes.
