If they want and need it for export markets and thats the market they want thats fine,

 

but there are a growing number of people that are refusing to buy Halal products and to upset a ready made market to appease such a small percentage of local people that demand it seems a silly bisiness decision.

Export markets are huge.. allows a company to grow and expand. The demand for halal certified products overseas is a trillion dollar market.. they not only catering for 2% of Australia's population. It is a global economy now.

to Hawk - all the sites/blogs about pig fat in chocolate on google are from anti-Muslim sites. There is no reliable source that confirms the pig fat in Cadbury chocolate claim.

As you claimed it I would have thought you had some proof that it was accurate.. that Cadbury chocolate sold in Australia had pig fat in it.???????????? even going to say that when Cadbury chocolate got halal certified they stopped putting pig fat in it.

I don't eat pork,  will only eat good quality short cut bacon with all the fat removed and that's not very often  .... never eat any meat with fat on it  .... Dont eat sausages or mince either

Mutton - gross - grew up on a sheep farm.

Just not a big red meat eater, don't fancy pig meat either. Nor processed meat- sausages etc.

What info do you have that any Cadbury brand chocolate sold in Australia had pig fat/pig DNA in it? Which is what you claim in the opening post.

 

Did vegetarians know not to eat Cadbury chocolate IF that was true?

 

I saw the Malaysian story (from this year) where Cadbury chocolate there had traces of pig DNA in it. That isn't Australian made chocolate though.
