Sirens, flashing lights, blue and red ones. Have candles caused a fire?

Poked my head out the door and witnessed the Bush Fire Brigade parading around the local streets.

Santa sitting in the rear waving to parents and kids, volunteer firefighters handing out "goodies".

What I am most annoyed about this display of neighbourly "love"? I have donated to this organization all year tossing coins and notes into the manned collection box at the local shopping centre.

I believed donations would be put towards the purchase of equipment, etc.

Not handouts at year's end. No more from me.

you dont know where the money came from for a few piddling lollies for kids..

for all you know, somr poor volunteer that will save your home in yhe future dug deep into his own pockets for the kiddies and christmas spirit

Maybe the lollies being handed out were donated and not bought from donations.

They are volunteers and are volunteering their time to spread the Christmas spirit and the donations you give DO NOT go to handing out goodies!!!!!

What they are giving out would have been DONATED by other businesses.

So before you get agro at others making others happy get the facts right first.

As a volunteer firefighter for over 17 years ALL donations have gone to getting equipment and maintaining what is had.

I just hope you never need these people in an emergency to see the equipment you may very well have helped pay for to help you IF ever needed.
