Bushie

What I would do for a log fire in my house.

I agonised over putting in one of the metal box types but decided against it.

cold wind here too Bushies.  I don't really need anything either, but I'm sure if we both have a look around at the shops, we will find something we just can't do without  Woman LOL

Aps I dont have an open fire, just one like this but it keeps the house nice n warm  ...... bty the PINK walls are going, now I have decided what colour I want, only took me a year to decide lol

Oh I agree Debra, I am sure there is something I could find lol

Deb I call that compulsive buying which Mr F has a habit of doing, plus he doesn't buy just (1) he buys 2 or 3 Woman Surprised

Did I ever tell you about the 50 odd containers of Jarrah Barvarian Bliss coffee I have stashed in the cupboard? Woman LOL I buy it when it's on special at half price, it's the only coffee I will drink. Woman LOL

Bushie

Very nice indeed.

Yes, that is what I was thinking of, a Coonara I think they are called.

I like it aps, there was an old one here when we bought he house, no fan and the damper didnt work properly, so we replaced it with this one.

Most of the fireplaces here have been walled up. One left in the dining room. So sad 😞

originally there would have been four

Buttercup: You mock my pain! Man in Black: Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

Amber there would have been 2 here at one stage, sadly both have been removed at some time.

Intersting.

I think every house we have lived in in Melbourne had a fireplace.

Now admittedly we moved around the first few years renting and my parents might have just gone for those types of houses.

But gees, on a cold winters day in Melbourne they are nice to sit in front of.

I'd kill for a house in the country with a fire place and tubes behind it that heat water that goes under the floor.

Used to visit a farm in NSW that had this, it was a great feature.

Aps the remnants of the chimney for the original kitchen wood stove are still under my house. I would have loved a wood stove in my kitchen sadly space didnt permit.
