I love Territory Cops, the stuff they have to put up with and the heat, now the police having to wear all black uniforms (I wonder what mental giant thought that one up).
At least they don't have to put up with drive by shootings and attempted murders in broard daylight on the streets of Sydney by drug lords, pity they missed that one, that would have been one less criminal drug pusher off the streets.

Watching Territory cops on TV, they don't take carp and don't suffer the PC BS that police down here do.
Re the uniforms, yes, that was the Police Commissioner.
The Sandy uniforms looked great and practical.
They get their fair share of murders up there but not the drive bys !!! LOL

They don't have to consult "community agencies" "religious Imams" before they can do their jobs.
If you want a lesson in social history look back over the 20 odd years the British TV program "The Bill" ran and see the way it reflected the degradation of police powers, the PC that was inserted into every move and decision until they became a toothless tiger and the public lost all respect, hence riots and looting all over Britain.
And now they are looking overseas for another police commissioner, didn't they learn anything from the last time that happened here? eg. Peter Ryan.

Yes, I remember the Bill. I also remember coppers in the UK would give young tykes a kick up the back side or grab hold of their ear and drag them hom to the parents. Now, the kids just stick two fingers up at them knowing they can't do anything.
Are you talking Vic or NSW for the new Police Comm ?
They need to look everywhere, inc overseas. The one they got for Vic who was treated very shabbily would have done well here because of his nature, plus he had a heap of experience in some important areas.
Some of the Aboriginal BS that is creeping in isnt good.

Walking in downtown Blacktown near the station yesterday looking for Hansom Gransom, saw this kid on a scooter couldnt've been more than 12, grabbed himself on the crotch, turned to a group of women including 2 young girls about his age and said:
"and next time, don't lick me on the balls"
It must have been centrelink payday because all the ferals were out and about.
Blacktown is so trashed. It was never high class, but it was a good, solid, working mans town.
Gotta go back there today sort out some business, be back later.

I think its the NSW commissioner who is retiring and they are looking overseas to replace him.
The NSW police are outraged that a suitable successor can't be from their own ranks. What kind of message does that send to the police if they can't access the top job, a kick in the lunch box is what.

If I'm remembering correctly, all Public Service positions have to be advertised. So that the "best person for the job" can be selected from the applicants.
Not automatically going up through the ranks with seniority/years of service.

What? Walked away on Jan 3rd.? Or gave notice on Jan 3rd to be effective on a certain date in the future?
