That is all I got too, tttt. The calendar/diary thing. I have already downloaded the latest ios, in the last couple of days. iOS 8.1.2
az - I am thinking about buying an ipad mini, is it much less useful than an ipad?
I bought the mini ipad as I thought it would be best to take when away from home. I would probably prefer the bigger screened Ipad Air if i used it mostly at home. Although it doesn't really matter as I have a laptop, netbook (smaller screen but larger than mini ipad) and the mini ipad.

Just checked again, no, then tried again and it is there. Will have to see if I can get that again.
tttt- hit the address bar, not right at the top where the calendar thing drops down from.
Yes, once the favourites icons comes up, then you need to flick page down from anywhere on it...the new bits appear above the top row of icons.
If lurks hadn't told us, we wouldn't have known it was there!

Great on my lap or in bed and for travelling.

Me too, tttt. I only saw it come up when I put the ipad down in disgust when only the icons came up, and must have swished the screen doing that, then I saw the missing bits at the top. ![]()

The other option for a portable "tablet", if anyone needs a new phone as well, is to look at the iPhone6 plus. Smaller again than the mini.
just bought an iPhone as my htc died. The plus was going to be too big for me to hold comfortably as a phone, but does work as a compromise for some 🙂
but
have heard that the plus can be bendy in a pocket, and that the camera takes out of focus piccies...so research if interested
