Aps, the current Woolies discount is up to 14c off with a Woolies voucher on the shopping receipt.

So the big discounts are still around.

Did the food shopping, had a mini pizza for lunch, contemplating a drink out later. Not a working day. Opened a parcel or two.

Robot wink

Amber - I had a quick look at that on the receipt recently... To get more than 4c off ( the extra 10c), you have to spend $10 in Woolworths Caltex shops..

No thanks!

I think what aps was referring to is early last year when you spent xx $ on groceries in the supermarket, they were giving out fuel discount coupons for more than 4c, 8 c etc... Woolies and Coles competing with each other. Customer didn't need to spend extra at the service station shop.

The ACCC  - shifting discounts from food to petrol.

In December 2013, the ACCC accepted two separate court enforceable undertakings from Woolworths Ltd, and Coles Group Limited, Coles Supermarkets Australia Pty Limited and Eureka Operations Pty Ltd (together Coles) following an investigation into whether fuel saving offers were causing a substantial lessening of competition in retail fuel markets.

The undertakings state from 1 January 2014 Coles and Woolworths will not make or allow fuel discounts where those discounts are not funded wholly by the fuel subsidiary or division of Woolworths or Coles; or greater in amount than four cents per litre and contingent on purchase of goods or services at a store or business separate from the retail fuel outlet.

There have been various ACCC/Coles Woolies undertakings/rulings since then re fuel discount coupons, I don't know where they are at now. Obviously they are still giving higher fuel discounts if customer buys extra goods separate from the supermarket.

Am3, the docket I have from today is spend the 10$ in Woolies. Then take that to the Caltex where if you have 4c on your rewards card,  from another shopping, you can combine for the 14. Bought some petrol yesterday and that's how it worked. No spend at the Caltex shop. Presented the receipt and the rewards card. Only bought the petrol. Had the full discount...so maybe they stuffed up? Doublechecked the receipt so know I had the full 14c. hmmmmm.

It is possible there are different promotions running, too. Which may or may not be flouting any prior rulings. Not inclined to buy things at the petrol station shop, either, unless I actually need them right that minute.

Different states, different deals?

Although you would think ACCC rulings would apply state wide.

My receipt - Save up to 14c per litre off fuel.

Spend $30 or more at WW supermarkets, save 4 c per litre fuel

Save an instant 10c per litre off fuel when you spend $10 or more in-store at a participating Caltex Woolworths.
