I never used to "haggle".  I thought it was "the height of bad manners".Smiley Very Happy

When I was in business, I used to price items fairly.  No room for haggling.  And when people used to ask for discounts, I said "no room for discounts".  And they'd walk out.  So be it.

After a while, I put the price up to cover the "for-fun-hagglers".  They thought they won.  And the customers who didn't haggle, thought that they'd won, when I said "just for you, a discount".  I got the "fair" price after all.

Recently, I had to get a new fridge.  I suggested a lower price than that on the Price Card.  Immediately, the price was accepted - no consulting with Managers, or invoices.

When Term Deposits are due, I "haggle" a better interest rate.  I don't mind waiting while the bank staff phone a magic person on the phone, it might only be 1% difference but it works.  And do get a reference rate from another Bank, it works.

Good morning everyone on this thread.  Beautiful day here.

aps, what does that kettle do that is different from a plain old normal kettle?  You would be in the good books buying 2 items.

Freddie, we are all getting concerned.  Do hope you and yours are OK.

Off to a bbq tonight so just made some scalloped potatoes and half made a trifle.  Usually have the family on Fridays but they came last night.

Waves to everyone else ..... hope you all have a good day.

Morning aps and everyone else

Well done re the "bargaining" lol  Yeah I can be a bit of a "haggler" when the mood takes me depends what Iam buying and whether I think it is worth what they are asking for it.  Mr B says I am "tinny",I so often mention to him that I would like this or that for the house and presto it pops up on one of the FB sale sites either free or very, very cheap.

Pleased you got you dog's allegy probs sorted out, did the vet mention putting him/her on Comfortis if it continues?

Bright and sunny here this morning, the plan is to get the new steps started, so I am guessing that a zillion tools will suddenly appear on my front verandah,  looking forward to seeing the end result which wont happen today.

I have a whole pile of succulents to re pot so that will keep me busy this morning

Smiley LOL

We don't live together, the kettle is at her house Smiley Sad

Although I like it, I tend to be a bit old school, like older, simpler styles.

And mechanical things, they last longer Smiley LOL

As long as it boils water, makes toast etc I am happy ... Simple works for me lol
