I think that to some extent, we all are offended by these. But just what is offensive to you, and what is acceptable humour?
Where exactly do we draw the line, segregating humour from offensive?
Every person processes information differently - ask 10 witnesses to a car accident, and you'll get 10 differing viewpoints.
Thats my point really. Who gets to decide what each of us sees as offensive or not. It is a moveable line according to our own philosophies and to an extent to context. But I believe it is no ones place to tell others what they may or may not be offended by.
When and where do we get to say no, I find that unacceptable?

But it cuts both ways. I see a lot of people on here telling other to harden up etc. Isn't that also imposing ones views?

Whenever YOU want to. Nothing wrong with saying " I find that unacceptable ?"
Now whether anyone or others accept your view is up to them.

Well, I'll try to remember that next time I object to a sexist "joke" being posted on here. I try to remember, while I'm being insulted and ridiculed, that aps said it was okay for me to say I don't like this. Thanks for that.

I'm afraid that voicing your opinion, and stating that you find something unacceptable, is also imposing your views.
It is, after all, a two way street.

Lurker
The opening that leaves for a humourous sexist joke response is bigger than the grand canyon ! ![]()
