No. They are where they are today because they strapped heroin to their bodies in Indonesia and tried to get on a plane.

You are right re some dont want the AFP handing over names for that reason.

If they can get them arrested in aus, they have all sorts of tricks they can use to get bail, shorter or no sentence etc etc and then throw in the 'human rights and play the race cards' and hey presto, every feels sorry for them and they get a wrap over the knuckles.

The AFP should make it policy to do everything they can to make sure all druggies are arrested overseas, not here in Australia.

It's a bit like drivers blaming the road for their accidents.  "Dangerous road", as if the road jumps up and grabs them.   Instead of driving according to the conditions at the time and avoiding any problem as best they can.

 

Do the best that you can with your children, and love them through any difficulties.

 

But don't forget, the majority of heroin users are not children, and the small amount that was discovered in this sting is nothing.  Heroin (and worse) is here aplenty.

 

It is only because it is shunned upon and illegal, heroin is an excellent pain killer and quite a good drug compared to many others.

The AFP could have let them take their chances.... and arrested them as they brought the drugs into Australia. They chose to ignore that they told Rush's family lawyer/friend that they would approach him prior to the trip......... but they didn't, they gave the info to Bali police.

Australian Federal Police........ they are supposed to be here to take care of Australia, not Bali.

 

They did take care of Australia.

They stopped drugs and drug dealers.

and now, they are asking the Indonesians not to execute them.

Idlewhile, firstly people die everywhere everyday Bali ranks about 7th or 8th on the list of deaths of tourists.
Secondly I'm not a chemist but it is my understanding that methanol is not put into the alcohol, it's a by product of the distilling process, from what I understand the first few litres that comes out of a still is methanol contaminated, this should be disposed of, but sometimes it isn't, this is how it was explained to me.
Many Indonesians die from consuming arak containing methanol.
DDB This was Scott's first trip to Bali, he is now a full on junky, this was Renee's third trip, first one was successful, second failed because of the capture in Thailand and third time BUSTED! The Brazillian they executed in the last round was a trafficker with many years under his belt.
I do hear every time some one is arrested carrying drugs and about the excuctions that take place through a local weekly news paper I read.

I think this is a very simple situation.  Choose a behaviour, you choose the consequence. They knew the risks, and did  it anyway.

 

I have zero compassion for them.  Why would I?   They made their own beds.

 

I am actually really sick of seeing Aussies expecting to have separate rules for them.

 

I think the parents have had several years to work out who their kids were.......... and probably did nothing. Nows a bit late to put some

 

effort in.......perhaps this might help other parents see their future if they don't deal out some tougher love.

Schoolies are an embarassment and no wonder the Indons disrespect us and view us with distaste behind our backs.

Thank you. Had you simply commented that you disliked  the place and would not want to go there   then I would not have been puzzled; but what you actually said was "I agree with a boycott." which led me to assume you were agreeing with the OP that all Australians should boycott Bali.

The word boycott implies some form of protest or sanction, not merely a personal antipathy. For example, I  would never choose Disneyland  as a holiday destination, but I would not describe that choice as a boycott.
