They are now predicting a cat 5 at landfall. Holy hell.
We look okay up here, its very still and quiet but I am really worried for Bundaberg especially.

It's sounding like a big one ttt. Hope you're all as prepared as you can be

Do have any idea what time you're expecting it to cross land? I hate that it's during the night too

Channel 7 says early tomorrow cat 5.
I have family near Mackay. They aren't worried.

I have family in Gladstone. They are all battening down. At present they don't look to be in the direct path, but I suspect it's still going to get a bit blowy there tomorrow. I understand those living in St Lawrence have been told to evacuate.

Yep, we look okay up here, unless it does a major dogleg.
Then we'd all be caught very short.

The latest report says that it has become slow moving.... Slow moving can mean a change of direction.

Update. They are worried but are not evacuating. They are in the worst possible position looking at the map. I have every confidence my son will keep his family safe but not expecting to sleep tonight.

My daughter is in Mackay. I believe the real danger zone is the centre area and further south. And then of course the ensuing bad weather and floods following once it makes landfall. But no -one can predict of course. I'd be really cranky if it got us here, we usually have days of warning, our warning came at 5pm tonight.
