Labor and the unions decided that their image was too harsh and so turned to females to soften that image. In doing so they have painted themselves into a corner and are now stuck with a percentage of females regardless if they are competent or not.
Before you all jump all over me, hear this, I am of the opinion that there are women in roles of life who are very competent in what they do. But to try to pad out the numbers just because there has to be an equal number of male and female not very wise.
Just like what appears to be a well endowed female figure but in reality it is just a well endowed padded bra.

Good post.
Apart from Sarah Hanson Young, I am trying to work out who have been useless female pollies.
Can't think of many.

Although your misogynist post doesn't deserve an answer, it's getting one anyway.
As the population is roughly 51% women to 49% men it follows that based on competency women would fill 51% of leadership roles, however, as men have always made the rules men have always filled the positions with men.
Which begs the question - Why do you think it's acceptable that incompetent men are prioritised over competent women?

Glee
Want to take this on an angle and discuss.

Thinking wider than politics, this can't always be the case, military being one area. It just doesn't work in some fields.
Not so much brains but lack of braun.
Your thoughts ?

In the old days braun was a more considerable factor than it is in the present. There are not many roles now that braun is the most important factor and there are some women of braun who maintain high levels of strength, just as there are some men who don't.

Soldiers carry more weight now in combat than they ever did.
I have tried to help one female pass physical tests, she just wasn't capable. Left the men for dead on other things, like Navigation.
She would have done well if she had passed but physically she just wasn't able to.

I do believe that you are, to coin a phrase, talking through your hat.
Since time immemorial males and females and males have instinctively performed the tasks that they were most suited to.
It is only in recent times that changes are being forced, against instinct, to homogenise the sexes into something that is against the instinct of both of them.
Woman have been conned into desiring "equality" but by doing that they have to give up advantages that they have had in the past,
they are not prepared to do that.
Pressure is being applied but any feminine woman should resist that pressure.

Podd
I look at it this way.
If so many women wanted it, be it a pollies position, CEO or whatever, then the positions would be filled.
The fact they are not says to me that a lot of women don't want them.
Men are the same, a job they want, they run for it. A job they don't, you need to ask for volunteers.

The differences between male and female have been dictated by nature, social customs, suitability to the task, temperament and many many more things that are too numerous to mention.
You either accept there is a difference or you try to ignore the difference, much to your loss.
I say,
Vive la Différence
