I've been doing a lot of that Vic. And restarting the computer. It just seems to freeze and become unresponsive on FB and Ebay.
Using chrome, i get some error message like kill pages or wait? I want to throw the computer out of the window!

Try using a different browser and see if that makes a difference.

You might have a corrupt file in Chrome.

I was wondering if I needed to update Chrome or something. But my Bigpond wireless seems less effective too.
A big house and parts of it downstairs and far corners keep cutting out and looking for 3G.

Jean you can thest out the internet transmission speed here

http://speedtest.net

That will test the data throughput speed. The speed should br near speed that you signed for

probably 25 Mbps download and 5Mbps upload

If pages are slow to load that would mostlikely br some sort of malware infection

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

If you are testing for speed, you need to be right next to the router, no walls.

If its a big house, you might need a second repeater or such like to boost the signal
At the other end.

Wireless isnt foolproof, it does weaken

I am using Explorer and we are on the NBN and use a Telstra T Hub system which could perhaps be the problem as they told me yesterday that our T Hub which is version 1 is not NBN compatible and they are sending out a replacement later version.
I am not sure how to clear cookies.
In this area it's Telstra that have issues with NBN. A lot of people complain about the service. It seems to be backhaul, or lack thereof, causing the problems and the problems increase when there is any popular sporting event on.   There have been lots of complaints this week for some reason.

TTTT what type of wireles modem do you have and what is the signal strength of your connection

also if you have exceeded you monthly allocation you are cut back to dialup speed

Sometimes routers need a firmware update too, if you don't have it set up for auto updates.

Is there cricket on this week somewhere?

When I was with Telstra you could pick the sports event weeks by the dodgy service quality.

That sounds like a bit of any excuse we can think of will do, although the first THubs did leave a lot to be desired.

My experience with Telstra BB is that they squeeze the last bit of capacity out of the network before they increase anything.  When congestion issues start to hit people they give them the run around until such time as they have a certain level of complaints then they look at network issue improvements, such as a bit more backhaul, which fixes the problem until the congestion issues start again.

No, not been shaped. I am starting to think it is a Chrome issue with my laptop.
My ipad internet is fine, 'cept for connectivity cutting out downstairs.

I can't check speeds now, but I will. Seems my laptop is needed for school work....
Mumblings about word or printer.

My modem is a Thompson TG 782T and it USED to reach all corners of the house. Will google firmware updates.
