She didnt do her job when more children were being abused.

No point asking that if you haven't read the HRC report.

What was Trigg doing for the 6 years before the Snap shot ?
She hasn't been in the job 6 years.
How can you argue so viciously against a woman when you don't even know the most basic information about her job and qualifications?

I know it's difficult, but can't you please try to lift your head abve the mire of party politics for a moment.
A report has been tabled saying that children have been abused in government run institutions and neither the government nor the opposition seem to beinterested in discussing it or doing anything about it.
How is this case so different from children being abused in State and church run home?. When details about that became known , did both sides of government go into melt down arguing over whose watch it hapened on and who should have investigated what, how or when?
I would also add to she-els comment that a RC into Institutional Abuse was welcomed by both parties.
But apparently we can't have an RC into this because Abbott thinks he has been targeted...go figure!

The HRC prepared a snapshot report in early 2013 to see what the main focus of future investigation should be in regards to asylum seekers.
The result of this investigation led to a more fuly developed investigation which culminated in THIS report.
It should also be pointed out that this report was meant to be a 10 year comparison report to the one commissioned in 2004.
And whilst she has been at the helm of the HRC, she has instigated numerous reports which were delivered to the Labor Governments. I didn't see them crying foul because they faced some flack. The most daming of the reposrts was about the inhumane treatment of asylum seekers on Christmas Island. And guess what?? Gillard was PM at the time. Her govt took it on the chin and developed strategies as per the recommendations the HRC set up for them.
Why are the Liberals taking this so peronally? Why so defensive? Whsy not review the reposrt and its recommendations constructively and actually DO something for these poor little mites.
Sheesh - talk about a bunch of cry babies!!
Funny you should write that, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

Once again I ask, what are the details of the abuse and who were the children abused by.
Just the facts and no some airy fairy convoluted jargon in political doubletalk or psychological hooha
Just the bruises and the people who caused then will do

Martini,
I have posted the link to the Senate hearing yesterday, numerous times on this forum since yesterday. All the answers to these accusations are there, in clear english. The reasons for the timing and the processs they go through in planning for the review and why the officer, Mr Dicks (I think) advised that an enquiry would be more suitable for the 10 year review.
It also clearly shows off who knows respect and who doesn't.

Trigg should do what the Governor General did, offer to resign.
She is now a distraction to the HR cause.
And all these children and abuse issues wouldn't have occurred if the boats had been stopped earlier,
instead of letting them come by the thousands.
