QUALITY OF FOOD ?
Aldi is getting a bit of a lashing
Maggots, fingernail, metal found in Aldi food
More Melbourne shoppers have reported finding maggots and foreign objects in food bought from Aldi.
Last week, a Richmond couple found a maggot in a jar of Remano tomato paste, which they bought
from an Aldi store in Abbotsford.

I reckon the veggies at Aldi leave a bit to be desired.
Mould on the fruit, especially those in containers.

If people spend a bit more time in the kitchen and create things themselves a lot of that can be avoided. I have cooked so much stuff today all ready to go for the kids so there is no need to open jars packets cans or open the freezer and it is very cheap and quick to prepare (healthy too)
Laziness has caused a lot of these problems and the NOW generation.

The GF preps a lot of the stuff herself, nearly all veggies.
Sweetcorn and Peas are probably the two exceptions
and I would do likewise, use frozen.
I have no problems prepping and cooking fresh food, including roasts etc.I revert to Packet gravy and those type of things.
Some jars of you know, flavourings are useful.

Real food is cheaper than take away, more so now than ever.
We comment on some of the good buys you can get at the supermarkets.
I think I bought 1 kg of bacon for $4.99 the other day and it wasn't carp
although it was packeted but from a butcher.

Well last weekend we went out a lot as I was in Perth and we ate at a burger place in Cottlesloe (is that how you spell it) lol
It was great, apparently we have one here in Bondi too, for my grandchildren they got a REAL burger with great fries (sprinkled with thyme, a juice and colouring in, all in a box for $8) much better value than McDonalds and I was able to order a beer too lol
