Soul, there's not quiet as many varieties of ginger plants as bromeliads, but there's lots.
I have that particular Bromeliad,as you have pictured. Not even thinking about flowering, too shadowed methinks. But at my previous abode, they were positioned where if looking at them towards the western sun, they appear fluorescent pink. Rather special.
Good luck with the sale.

Yes all those beautiful flowers would make me happy too. I wish I had them here, I can't have any flowers at all as the yard is in shade. So it makes me happy to see photos of them. ![]()

Hope the house sells quickly. You have some lovely plants/shrub/flowers in your garden.
Is it only some types of ivy that flower? I have had a huge lot of ivy removed recently from growing up a fence, which is very high up (fence on a retaining wall). Stem cut & poisoned. No flowers on that one.

Those broms have a coral colour to them, so nice when they're all in flower. It's been absolutely horrid with the humidity here, too YUK!!!
Normally have a great breeze but it's only been in the last few days that the weather has begun to feel more like normal.... a horrible summer in many places this year.
I'd have to stick plastic flowers in the garden if nothing would flower !!! hahaa
I hope the house sells quickly too ! It's been a tough few months that's for sure. Trying to organise everything by myself and being frustrated by not being able to do the things needed....Grrr
I had been pretty stressed about how to support myself and had to apply for a disability pension...with the new rules and all the stuff in the media, it was worrying but I think if you have all the test results, documentation, doctors reports etc and you are genuine, you're treated fairly.......well, that was my experience anyway. Centrelink were fantastic to me.
I was told when I had the job capacity ass. that it could take 8 weeks or so until a decision was made but the day after the interview I was rung and told I'd been approved as unable to work at all. While it was a relief not having to worry about that anymore it was'nt very nice to have to face my limitations.
I'm looking forward to moving on to the next chapter of my life and think it's going to be the best part ever !!!!
Will have to have a very small amount of flowers but will make sure there's plenty of colour !!!

am3, The ivy that's in Soul's photo, I know as German Ivy, it's a waxy type leaf and stem and doesn't cling to supports, it's more of a vine.

Deb, the ivy spreads everywhere, up trees etc. I had been going to try to make some wire animal shpes and grow the ivy on them.
