Alcohol, the poison white man introduced into their communities. Alcohol and boredom because only very few can find a job and feel a worthwhile person. More education in some communities is badly needed. Education and understanding of native culture.
The native people will survive without government handouts. They will revert to their hunter gatherer way of life as so many tribes still do, and some elders are willing to teach the young ones. But then Government officials and especially the greenies will forbid this and that and certain areas where the natives will not be alowed to hunt or build their shelters.
Blaming people for reckless behavior is not solving anything. There are thousands of white people trashing Housing Commission Homes every week. Drugs and drink are part of their life, and living on the dole is a right for them.
My husband, when he came to live in our town, rented a house very cheaply. It was trashed and a pigsty. White people had live there. Peter got busy with toolbox, plaster and paint, replaced cupboards, floorcoverings and the steps to the house and made it a home again.
After we married and he moved in with me, the house was avertised for twice the rent that Peter had to pay for it.
So please, do not blame all aboriginals for wrecking houses. They deserve the same help and financial support as any other drug and alcohol abuser without any inclanation to get clean and get a job.
