Let's face it. We're too blood y old - dinosaurs!

But try telling today's youth about all the 'fun' we had, and they won't believe you!

And we used to meet up without the use of a mobile phone!

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I'm not quite as old as you guys but all those car photos reminded me of this, one of my favorite family photos despite the lack of quality.

Gawd, I'd forgotten about my little sister sleeping on the "parcel shelf".

Come to think of it, why is it called a parcel shelf?   Didn't the boot/trunk hold enough for the purchases of the day?

Remember standing on the hump in the back to see over the bench seat, and seeing kids sitting in the back of utes facing backwards.

Lol, my auntie had a VW and 3 of us used to squeeze into that 'parcel ?' space behind the back seat when there wasn't room for all of us.

And it was nothing in those days was it to sit up against the back window in the ute - we used to love it !

And in later years when I owned a panel  van we'd to go to the drive in movies with a heap of mates hiding in the back (Shame on us).   Oh yes, those were the days.  Did things we'd never allow our kids to do these days Smiley LOL

What a magnificent and happy thread .....  Smiley Very Happy

Oh yes, I remember mum used to be utterly disgusted in that fashion of long boots & hot pants in the middle of winter !  But I do recall we wore a jacket as well (Not a long one though !)

And pantsuits, pedal pushers and culottes (Simplicity pattern)(before the age of being allowed to drive-ins)
