why are McDonalds putting in touch screen cashiers (Forest Lake Qld)?
I don't go there often I admit, but when I do I prefer to pay cash.
I LOVE CASH!!
BRING BACK CASH FOR US OLDIES!!
And don't get me on to those self service checkouts......

I'm with you, Grapes.
I'd rather pay with cash than card, and those touch screens are dangerous when you loose your card. I told my Bank that I will not accept a card that can be swiped to pay for things.
And they can place as many self service counters as they like. I will not use one. If there is no cashier, I leave the groceries in the trolly and walk out of the shop without buying anything.

Cash is still legal tender, isn't it? They should have a human cashier thereabouts???
Won't be long before robots takeover the cooking process too, I suppose. Then the only staff necessary would be : cleaners; stock fillers; techno-savy staff; maybe all 3 positions could be filled by one person?
Drive thru - self serve?

If you go the Masters Hardware on a weekday when it's quiet, there are no cashiers, so if you want something you have to use the self service checkouts.
Last time they had a person to help thankfully......by the time I found my glasses in the bottom of my bag. he had put my item through for me. He He!

McDonalds are putting in touch screen cashiers to save money. They've lost massive amounts of customers in recent years as people are starting to turn away from the rubbish they call food and opt for better, healthier choices. Sadly for them, they cant see that this is yet another poor decision that will have even more customers leaving.
Cant say it worries me, the sooner they all close their doors for good the better as far as I'm concerned.

They are paying all this money for touch screens and yet they can'f fix their broken coffee machine....
Anyone else notice this when they want a coffee (not from the McCafe)? Stock answer is 'Our machine is broken, we can get you one from the McCafe', and then they proceed to charge you extra for it....talk about cheeky.
